Congratulation to Prof Dato' Dr Hassan Said who was given honorary degree by the University of Birmingham during the University graduation ceremony last December (2010).

Professor Dato’ Dr Hassan Said

Professor Dato’ Dr Hassan Said is currently the Vice-Chancellor and President of Taylor’s University. His field of specialization is Computer Aided Geometric Design. He introduced a new class of blending functions, namely the generalised Ball basis functions (sometimes referred to as Said basis functions). Prior to this appointment at the university he was the Director General, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia. During this time he was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors at various local universities, he was also the Governing Board member of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization for the Regional Centre of Higher Education (SEAMEO – RIHED). Currently, he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Open University Malaysia and the Asia e–University and a Board Member of the Capital Market Development Fund (CMDF), Security Commission, Malaysia.

BN Will Win Back Kelantan

BACHOK: Kelantan Umno is confident of retaking the state from Pas in the next general election.

This is because sentiments towards the party have softened while the state government has lost some traction because of its inability to solve long-standing issues, such as proper water supply.

State Umno liaison committee deputy chairman Datuk Dr Awang Adek Hussin said the important thing was that the party had to have a clear target and work hard to achieve its aims.

2) VCD - OG is currently undertaking editing the video taken on Sat 11 Dec 2010 (Registration, Hi Tea & Dinner). Once this is satisfactorily done, we will make copies sufficient to be distributed one each to all contactable Batch 73 members and teachers.

3) STILL PHOTOS - there is a collection of more than 250 photos taken over the two days (11 & 12 Dec 2010) which have been uploaded to starbatch73.blogspot.com plus the Before and After photos of those who had attended the dinner. These photos are also planned to be copied into a CD-ROM for distribution. You may also download/copy them from the website on your own.

4) CONTACT ADDRESSES - we have not obtained details on most for updating purposes, thus the distribution of a Batch73 Directory is expected to take a little bit more time. To those who have not updated your details please do so ASAP. Inputs required are:-

It is hoped that our resolution this time around is not one that is geared towards wanting to resolve last year's resolution which was to resolve the previous year's. Anyway, hoping that we will all be in good physical and mental health, insyaAllah.
